Will (i4 to v6 swap) has a s/c gen 3 camry, and who can forget about shook s/c 5sfe with the rippmods....i wonder what happened to him tho, havent seen him lately..
well, i've seen a few s/c'd gen 3's all rippmods and at least one Kazuma (trd), however, i believe that turboing is the more common route. what i've never seen before is the gen 3 v6 stick.... were they ever available like that, or is it a mod?
Yea the only supercharger for the 1mz is made by TRD, they stopped making it about 2 years ago. ill have my hands on one in the next 3 months if everything works out. Im just looking for pointers to the 3rd gen specifically.
I s/c my avalon, basically the same setup, 1mzfe and all. A few things when, if your installing it yourself, is the vacumm ports, try to remember what goes where. there is a vacumm diagram in the engine bay of teh oem setup, go by that if you forget. the know theres a vacumm diagram for it in the back but thats hard to go by. But since teh EBC was released a whle after the first production run, the wiring is different, so follow that one. Okay I'm making this really confusing, just follow the vacumm diagram that is shown on the EBC install manual. The car will run fine with or w/o the EBC.
also, when install the s/c, be sure to hand tighten certain parts, EGR and EGR tube especially, before tighting the s/c on the intake. *** BE CAREFUL WITH THE PCV VALVLE!!!*** when you put the charger on, you might snap it. I did and car wouldn't idle correctly til I got a new one. Towards the end, you'll need to tie off the 'DIAGNOSIS" thing, near the pulley of the s/c, somewhere else. also when putting the idle plate on, you'll need to hammer out the square piece that the plate is suppose to go, you'll notice if you put it on top of that square thing, the hood will hit the plate. Just wack it, it'll come off and the plate will fit fine. Other than that, have fun getting s/c and let me know if you run into problems.
p.s. put some IK22plugs in first casue they burn colder and better for s/c systems.
for us 3VZ-FE guys, would we be able to use a sintrifical supercharger? (looks like a turbo, but runs on belt) any body know?

Gibson99 superchanrged his gen 3 back in the day with the TRD kit. I think he sold the car a few years ago though.
You beat me to it... hahah. BUT from what he has told me, he didn't enjoy it as much because of the problems that it was plauged with.

Cool bro!!! yea im having a shop here do the install on it, i dont have the tools or knowledge i wanna have on a V6 to do that kinda thing. Apex is doing the install for me so im sure everything will work out, but ill drop a few of those things you mentioned. TRD4Life is helping me out with the setup also. What are you tuning with?
I feel so old. Back in the days of Camryman.org, Gibson99, Shawn, etc. From there it branched off to TeamSC3 then Solaraguy then Toyotanation? What ever happened to camryman? Jon.
