Cigarette Light Ring change.

I searched and found a brief comment from CrawlingEye about it, but I can't figure it out. How do i do this swap?

But judging by what I have it doesn't make sense...

Other than the fact that your new LED bulb is long, I'm not seeing what doesn't make any sense here.

I believe it's soldered in, just like the 194 bulbs in your speedo.

-shrugs- depends on the car I guess. Some of us had our bulbs soldered into the holders of our gauges, so I figure it's the same here. Might as well break it and use a pair of needle nosed pliers to clean it up if you can't figure it out. I just painted mine with glass paint. Didn't exactly work all that well since the bulb was so small. Worked well for the 194 bulbs though.

I did this conversion.

It is a ghetto solution but it worked. Take that apart as much as possible. You can get the bulb out somehow, I forgot. Then desolder the contact points that are attached to the bulb.

Then bend the wires on the LED and solder the contact points back on. Shave as much off the front of the LED as you can.

Then when you try to put it back together, you can get the light back in the socket, but not far enough to twist and lock it. I just taped it so it wont come out.

Now I remember. You push down on teh bulb ot get it out. Push down on metal nubs also.
