Australia What are you really missing with your Camry!!!

I had some fun on the weekend, and learnt something that i never realised when people told me, till i experienced it myself.

I went out looking for wrx's for my mate and test drove them since he cant drive even if he thinks he can , all 3 rex's were highly modified 2 had over 25k spent on them and built at MRT.

first one was 1997, 198kw@4wheels at very nice low k's but boy did it fly, it had chrome 19s on it so as soon as i saw i thought oh no that wont move, but i was suprised it comes on boost at 2500rpm and all hell breaks loose in no time is goes 60-80-110-140-160 in a 60 zone :o and the thing handles excelent and looks good.

Second 2001 wrx, ecutek ecu on 19psi it went well but it was also bordering on too much for the street, before you know it look down and your doing 170 :o. This thing drove so nice, excelent tourque curve on boost and changed gears quick because of the short shifter, extremely smooth and handled excelent for a lowered car.

Third was Crazy 1996 club spec evo 242kw@4wheels on 18psi, if you ever thought rexes dont drift get one with 200kw+ and youll see , this thing was a handfull, off the mark all fours are blazing it pulled like a rocket, 200 at the blink of an eye , i could imagine it in traffic hit boost and bang youve hit the car in front of you hehe.

At the end of the day i jump in my 1992 sv21 camry with extractors around 75kw@wheels hehe and happily drive home, i have always said that i am happy with my camry it drives so well, i have been in many wild cars but after i jump in my camry im happy. I have done quite a few mods to it to make it handle and perform better, i really like driving a car in the mountain roads in corners etc. A have only got good comments on the camry, and only one friend said to sell it and get something better.

Im happy with where it is now, i have the suspension mods springs ands suspension and new bushes to enjoy the handling, and the performance full exhaust with extractors etc and sound system jvc, pioneer and soundstream gear and im happy as larry, im not looking for anything.

Camrys have had a bad name as we all know, but i think things are slowly changing with the new ones coming out, i still get asked on the street nice car what is it, and i chuckle and say camry and normally they dont beleive me till that look on the back sticker hehe.

My Camry :

I know you guys are probably drooling over the rexes, but really is not all that its cracked up to be, just be happy with your camry, and its all that matters .
