should work as long as the base is correct. The only thing I have heard is that since the resistance is so low on LED's that sometimes if youuse them as a blinker it will cause them to blink fast because the flasher relay thinks the bulb is missing.

As for benefits or whatever. It will more than likely look close to waht they look like now however they will light faster which is really the reason manufacturers started using them. The safety benefits.

I'ved tried 3157 LED bulbs similar to these ones:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3156-3157-Sup...QQcmdZViewItem

I bought these in white colour and was quite dissapointed because they weren't as bright as the stock incandescent 3157s. My car is a gen4.5 camry btw. And yes, if you use them as the signal bulbs they will blink superfast due to having less resistance than normal incandescent bulbs. So it's best to leave them in the brake lights.

I'm not saying the ones you're looking at are bad, I'm just letting you know my own experience with LED bulbs from eBay.

American gen4's taillights are 3157. 1157 will not work. Still, the LEDs are not brighter than incandesants. The only drop-in replacements LED bulbs that will be worth while will be the DOT approved LED replacements from Slyvania. However, these are not out yet and not sure when they will be.

I have LED replacements in my front turns. Looks great at night but horrible during the day.

if you just want brighter rear lights, unless you want to replace your single bulb with an array of leds' like tony did, your best bet is to use hyper white xenon bulbs that are just brighter than regular bulbs

You just have to buy the right bulbs.
You need to buy bulbs with the same color light as the lense.
White LEDs behing a red lense will not be very bright.

I have bought a set of LED 3157s from JAMSTRAIT.COM
THey sold them at autozone. THey were the second brightest of their lines and they are as brights as stock incandescent and they just fire striaght forward.

The ones you are planing on buying may be as bright as stock but there may be a dim spot in the middle of the lense since there are no LEDS firing forward. I may like them like that, and am curiouse on how they look.

Snakes is right too, 3157 not 1157. 1157 is for front turn. I have front turn with 12 leds or so. They all fir forward. FOr those you need ones the have a better angle.

The red from an LED is deeper than the housing, I like that too.

EECC do you still have those LEDs? Do you want to sell them cheap?

If you use the led brake lights won't that cause the light on the dash that means one of your taillights are out since the leds have such a low resistance

Hidplanet has a nice big review of these type of bulbs here. The general thoughts on it is that it's ok for running lights, ok for blinkers, but not bright enough for brake lights. They can allmost not be seen during the day.
