Question about the weight of camry

Hi, guys. I check the spec of a camry LE which has 4200 lbs gross vehicle weight, and 3108 lbs curb weight.
My question is what is the difference between gross vehicle weight and curb weight??

thanks

i *think* gross weight is the car in the frieght and curb weight is just the car with everything it needs to run loaded (oil, coolant, gas etc). i may be wrong with the gross weight but im pretty sure thats what it is.

Coolant, oil, gas, etc, would not weigh 1100 lbs - c'mon, think about it.
Gross weight is rated with passengers - total weight it is rated to carry, including the car's weight.

More accurately, Gross Vehicle Weight is defined as "The maximum loaded weight for which a single automobile is designed, as specified by the manufacturer."

i wasnt saying that the other stuff would weigh 1100 lbs. i just thought that the car inside the box (shipping frieght) including the box would weight around that much. i really have no clue to be honest but i just remember hearing that somewhere.

*edit*
i was way off. i looked it up and he was right. gross weight just means fully loaded and curb weight means empty car.

curb weight is the weight of the car with a full tank of gas.

gross weight is how much the car and all passengers and cargo can weigh and still be considered safe to drive. You can load it more than the gross but it will not be as stable to drive.
