but I think it would have been a lot neater if you could have slowly blended it into the rest of the light, if you know what I mean...

Yeah, that doesn't look good.

It would look better if you could have matched a line in the headlight or on the car, like start it at the line where the hood meets the fender. Not to mention the color is too dark for the car.

I see you live in sunny California. I live in Michigan. Film on the outside doesn't last in Michigan, with extreme cold in winter and hotness in summer. Don't forget road salt.

I did a similar thing, except with automotive tint paint. Even after prepping it with paint adhesive, came flaking off next winter. Same for my painted mudguards.

After a while, you lose the motivation to do those custom things. Michigan cars take extreme beating. The only way to drive nice cars and keep it nice, is to have a winter beater car.

Michigan roads suck. I was surprised when I went to Arizona and saw a 1970's Datsun POS pickup truck, still going strong. Hell, cars in Michigan probably won't last 10 years.
