Here's a question to which I cannot find an answer: What are the gear ratios in the S-51 5-speed gearbox? And whats the final drive ratio for an 87 camry? I'd think its pretty short, shorter (numerically higher) than 4.0:1. Thanks

okay the s51 tranny and the s53 tranny are interchangable for the sv21 , the gearing is different , however both have differential gear and pinion final drive ratio of 3.944:1 apparently. Seems the difference will be in the tranny you select as to whether your quicker or slower off the line so to speak. :-?
