3rd Generation One of those days!

Ever just have one of those days? The day where you feel like your on cloud nine, and then bam....something stupid happens and your in a fowl mood? I just had one! I went to go jack the 95 1mz up so I could change the oil real quick. Well, as I started to jack I could see the jack wasn't seated right so I went to twist the pin to lower it and start over. No sooner did I make contact with the pin did the jack roll out from under the car, and rip one of the fan brackets right off the radiator causing about a 3 inch chunk to go missing from it's place and all of my fluid to drain on to the garage floor! It's the plastic part that broke, so I wonder if I could possibly replace the part *still have* and patch it. Otherwise my local Pick N pull is having a 50% off sale tomorrow, so maybe I'll check there. Does anyone know what other years/ models might have the same radiator?

If you broke the plastic on your radiator (end tank?) don't even bother attempting a fix. You can have a rad shop replace that whole piece or you can replace the radiator. Sorry to hear that. Good luck!

Wow that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I assume you were lifting it by that front subframe lookin doohickey.

I would have done that too. I've seen too many weld seams (on the side where you're 'suppoed' to jack it up) bend up and crunch to feel comfortable jacking my car up by them.

I would just go to a pick and pull yard too.

I wouldn't buy a used radiator, no matter how cheap. Plastic and aluminum radiators tend to crack and leak over time, no matter what.
A new radiator should run around $150 from radiators.com (they deliver - they are a large network of local radiator suppliers - I have used them, and they were great). Autozone is also a good source and comparibly priced.

Also, buy new and get a lifetime warranty - if you keep cars like I do, it is worthwhile. I have replaced several radiators, and never had the new one fail, even over time.

PS - I usually jack a car by a suspension mounting point - like where the lower control arm mounts to the subframe.
