Gen5 wheel lock?

I suspect there s a slow leak in my tire and I went to canadian tires to check out. They examined the car and said I have wheel lock and said they will have to charge me to break it and replace with regular.
I was like wtf...Before I went to goodyear to change tires and also do re-balancing in a toyota dealer. They never ever tell me I have a wheel lock and they seem to have no problem with the tires.

So...Do I really have wheel locks???

Wheel locks are just one different lug nut on each of the four wheels probably from preventing wheel thefts? ITs a certain pattern the lug nut has, of which the wheel lock is the other side of the pattern to be able to take it off. Alot of wheel locks are different patterns. At goodyear, whenever i get a car with wheel locks, I just look in the glove department, or the trunk where the spare tires is at to find that bolt pattern.

Question

so are there actually any keys to open it?
The guy at canadian guy said I should have a key to open but I never receive or told I have one

Does that mean anyone experiences with toyota vehicles can open the wheel lock easily? if that so...that's mean auto service in canadian tires have no experiences with those things ?

Some places you go, MIGHT have a set of some wheel locks, but not all as spares for people who loose them. Look at your wheel lug nuts. Probably thinking you have five. If you see one of the five on each wheel with a weird different pattern. That means you have a wheel lock on it. Like I said, open your trunk, and look at your spare tire. Most likely there will be a small jack and a breaker bar probably, and MAYBE along with all of that will be your wheel lock. It looks like a socket almost. If it isn't found in any square inch of your car, that means your screwed and lucky you can find a place to match the wheel lock pattern. or possibly the place you took it to before, never returned your wheel lock into its proper spot in your car. good luck.

ok thanks=) I think I get what you mean
I will check my spare tire later, hopefully the wheel lock is there or else I am screwed

just wonder I thought wheel locks are optional equipments? I never thought my stock alloy wheels comes with wheel locks although I did have a set of new unopened wheel locks package in the glove department when I get my car delievered, I thought they are just gifts and put them at home as they are so heavy.

The wheel locks for me was with the jack, so if you lifthe the carpet in the tunk and lift the cover on the right, it should be there.

For me, I dont prefer wheel locks, because its an extra step you have to do to able to get the wheel off when always working on my car. If I had some nice rims, now thats a different story. A whole new meaning. protecting your own investmet from getting jacked. But it doesn't matter, just whatever floats your boat.
