Ok, here's my problem. When I'm racing my gen3 camry or just flooring it on a lonely street, by the time I rev it to bout 5000revolutions, I hear this ssssssssss sound coming from the engine. Might be a stupid question, but I just wanted to know what's making that noise.
To be honest, I can feel the engine noise getting louder 3000 km after oil change, and I am not driving very hard either. So probably try the synthetic oil next time (I'll be using Mobil 1 soon too).

Switching to synthetic on a car that's been using regular all its life isn't a good idea. It depends on how many miles on your car though. How much does yours have?

Yes there are semi-synthetic oils made that are meant for older engines. But it depends, Ben might even be able to use synthetic. Isn't his car pretty new?

I'm sure he can try something like synthetic blend instead of going all out to full synthetic.

I have 94k on my Lexus Es300 and i want to know if i can use full synthetic? It has been using penzoil and other petroleum based oils all its life, what are the complications on doing the conversion?
Ok what you guys have got to do is try the oil first.I went to synthetic at 55 000KMa nd i had no problems. On a higher milage car its better to try the oil out and see if you loose oil after a couple weeks, the only thing that can happen is that the oil level will drop and then you just need to add more. But if it keeps going then its time for a semi blend that will not burn or leak.In most cases the oil will not leak in a well maintenained engine but after a while some oil can seep out of gaskets and your piston rings.I would not do it on a 150 000 mile car but anything lower might be ok as long as its well maintained and has good compression in the cylinders.(If it leaks from the gaskets go back to normal Dyno oil)
Benyu and Erfan... the suggested way to use synthetic oil on your car is:
Buy brand new car
Use regular oil for the first tuneup
Switch to synthetic on the second tuneup
So basically you make the switch before 10,000 kms. That is the BEST way to do it. However if you want to switch later on, it is all at your own risk. Nothing bad will happen in most cases, but are you a gambler?
