4th Generation Quick Optima Battery Question, Please !!

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry V6..

Would a Yellow Top Optima Battery, Model D51R, fit my car with any problems..??

It is a reversed post battery... So, I'd just have to turn it around so my terminals reach the battery posts...

Any comments welcome.. Thanks...

Probably not without extending the leads. When you flip it, they might not reach over the top of the battery.

That is the problem that I had, although in retrospect, it would have been easy to bend the clamps, which I had to do anyway, when they didn't really fit over the edge properly anyway.

It was really easy to re-route the wiring (once you cut all the tape off of the plastic channel that contains the wires), and you DO NOT have to extend the leads, with the exception of the 8-gauge wire (+) which goes directly to the starter. It is a separate cable anyway, so run to the autoparts store and get a universal battery cable that is slightly longer, and you will be fine.

Search, there heve been several recent threads on this.

basically, any of the optimas will fit your car

and the reversed terminals is not a problem, as said above

just yank on the harnesses to get all the slack possible, cut the plastic wrapping, and you'll have enough wire to reach
