hey everyone,
just a msg to say im a noobie in this forum. So basically its a friendly "hi all!".
also just asking for opinions from you all as well. Im looking at buying a camry at the end of the year. Im not really sure whether to get the 4 cylinder or the v6 (Gen3). either way it has to be a manual. but yea, im actually looking at the v6 very seriously, so if anyone has any disturbing news about it that i should know, and they think i should change my mind, let me know.
Get a V6 model mate! There quite nice AND if u can, get urself a 5 speed one hehe...there even better.
Hope you find this forum informative, and have a great stay.
yea im going to get the v6, just wondering if they had anything bad about them that the 4's didnt. but yea im definitely getting a 5spd manual. There is no question about it. autos are too boring .. lol
I have a camry and solara, both have V6. I drive alot of Camrys at work (fleet) and they are all 4 cylinder. So I know both the engines pretty well.
For power and top end cruising, the V6 wins, no contest. I get about 25 mpg in Southern California traffic with a lot of stop and go. On long trips i can get closer to 30.
But the 4 cylinder is by no means anemic, it has plenty of power for a 4. The V6 cars do cost a little more to buy, even used. The 4 cyl also gets a little bit better mileage, about 30 mpg (forget EPA ratings, they are useless!). And it is much easier to work on when you need to do plug changes or a timing belt.
Before i bought mine, i test drove a lot of camrys and i chose the V6 though, simply for the power; and i have not regretted this decision. I'd drive one of each 4 cylinder or V-6 and then decide.
