Gen5 K&N air filter

i saw the K&N air filter demo at the local toyota parts dept. it seems to let air pass more freely. it goes for about $55. is it worth it to get one? i mean, would there be any performance benefits, esp with gas mileage?

For such a small amount of money...it allows for a slight performance gain(allows the engine to draw in air easier). They are re-usable(ie you can self clean using the K&N cleaning/re-oiling kit).....I am sure they improve fuel economy slightly as well.

u have a gen 5 so its probably a pretty new car. I'd get one as it can last the life of the car. It requires only anual cleaning (if you drive in pretty clean areas), so it saves you in the long run regardless if it gives you any real performance gains. Its just less hassle and more cost effective, not to mention more environmentally friendly.

I'm using K&N on my GEN3 for about 4 months. I haven't noticed any serious mpg improvement, but acceleration get's better (or may be just feels better).

I got mine on E-bay for $30.00. Happy with it.
