The correct term is " front strut tower brace" and it is a bar that ties the top end of the front struts together to keep the chassis from flexing on hard cornering.

Exactly it keeps the front end of the car from flexing because the frame of the car is actualy 2 parts around the engine and that makes it less rigid.what the strut bar also does is cause the struts to stay straight when cornering making for better traction and sharper turns.

I'm not trying to be an a** or anything, but I suggest that you buy a repair manual (Chiltons and/or Haynes) and read up. It'll answer alot of the questions you have about your car and it's the best $12 you'll ever spend on your car.

I know your curious and all cos you've been asking alot of questions, but some stuff just can't be learned by asking ppl.

I didn't learn how to tear apart and build engines by asking ppl or reading books. I actually had to do it with my own 2 hands.
