4th Generation Flex pipe leaks!

My car's fles pipe is leaking right now. I took it to the shop and they quoted me $200 total. Is it a good price? Also, I ordered the ripp header, it comes with the center section, is that a flex pipe??? I just want to varify so I don't have to pay $200 to install a new one.
Help please????

200 is fair, check some more, the going rate in Toronto is 170 or so Canadian.

But as you indicated that you have the ripp header on its way. How much noise (leakage) do you have?

The Ripp header has a flex section after the down pipe, it will go into a ball/cup type of mount for allowing movement between the cat and down pipe section.

I am just waiting for my flex coupling to go, or the weather to wrm up, so I can put mine in.

So, you're saying that I don't need to change my flex pipe now right??? The ripp header already has it right?

I would say YES, teh Ripp header has a flexible joint, it just looks different from the one you have now.

unless you have

1) enough noise to attract unwanted attention (neighbours and police),
2) Emissions Test failure,
don't change it.

It's not that noisy, and we don't have emession check at where I live. Hopefully, the ripp header has it, and they 're better hurry up for delivery. It's been 5 months since I paid.
Thanks for the reply.

Hey Hajoca...I satisfy #2 in your list Anyways, I think that your quoted price of $170CDN is about right, cuz I just got a quote for "flexpipe only" for $150 (labour included). Is that resonable? What parts exactly am I looking to replace (they said weld the new flexpipe in)? Oh BTW, I have a Gen3.
