Gen5 MPG-Can this be?

Just bought an 02 SE 2.4 5-speed wednesday and took my first MPG reading. The damn car got 29 MPG over 150 miles. Does this sound right? Not that I'm bitchin mind you, I was figuring about 25 or so. The car has 61K miles and had a complete 60K service at the dealer I work at. The second owner (he bought it from us) traded it in 3 days after the service because he found out it doesn't have ABS. The car is mint and I just got done stripping off some misapplied pinstripe and re-striping it myself. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with my choice of vehicle and was wondering just how rare the 5-speeds are?

ummm....you can't calculate it from a 150mile trip.....you have to calculate it over 3 tanks to get an average

Yea, I know it's too early to tell. but I'm not used to going over 100 miles and not have the speedometer move. I have come over from V8 powered RWD Ford land (latest 98 Mark VIII) and just not used to this. I'm really liking this car!

my 03 se 4cyl manual 5 speed yields 30 to 33 on average mpg, mostly non local traffic. your mpg number sounds normal.

I drive 2 V8's. 91 Town Car & a 87 Corvette Convertible. People are constantly shocked by what I get for mileage.

91 TC - All fluids are synthetic(engine, trans, rear end) and I get 19 city, 26 highway at about 80mph.

87 Corvette - All synth, mobil 1 only. I get 18 city and 27 highway.

The Toyota doesn't get that good, but it still is being worn in from the engine rebuild.
