2nd Generation K&N Filter Question

Ok i just had a quick question, dunno if its been answer, but i was thinking about a cai upgrade to my camry, as i am aware that the 3s-fe has a stock Cai. Dunno about the 5s-fe, :P but i don't have that engine so i don't care about it lol

Anyways i was thinking of replacing the pipe with a metal one with ceramic paint (for looks), but my main question is rather than a cone K&N filter, would a K&N Stock replacement filter be just as good? I know the sound would not be anywhere near that of a cone, which is a shame, but i'm looking for more functionality.

With the opening of the original "CAI" beeing so narrow
you wont notice anything, get some better pipes, remove the resonator box
and put on a pod filter. i dont have a cai but its so cold here in Norway that
i really dont need one either

My setup

lol Your lucky you don't have the air sensor on your intake. I was considering replacing the opening with a bigger one. Any suggestions anyone?

AFM?? i ripped it out and put it under my bed

No the Euro Spec 3S-FE don't have EGR, AFM, o2 sensor or a catalytic converter

The engine is really a JDM engine that has been readjusted for European petrol
(95 Oct ROZ) so it puts out 130hp instead of 140hp, but thats because
jap petrol has a higher quality and higher octane rating.

The JDM engine uses a MAP sensor instead of a AFM and actually has a very nice
treat you can *manually* adjust the A/F ratio. If you look by the sticker on the
right side you will see a "thingy" with 3 wires connected to it, there is 2 arrows
on it that says R(Rich) and L(Lean) with a small flathead screwdriver you can
adjust the A/F ratio from super lean (engine stops) to super rich (black smoke)

you can ajust the a/f ratio on the AFM by turning the wheel inside the AFM

Sorry about the OT :P
You wont notice much performance vise but the engine would sound better, you
really notice the difference when you're driving, especially when you pass 4000rpm.
