3rd Generation excess static....

^ when i get out of my car i get a nice jolt when i touch the body, i have an amp for my back speakers, grounded, could this be giving me the shock? its only whith the car off, and im getting out after driving.

im sure its a common problem with at least the gen3s..
try washing the carpets (i know it sounds weird), since the dry air is creating static when you rub ure shoes on the dry carpet. it really cant be avoided, but there were some small things u could do to help.. it was mentioned here before somewhere.. i think i've gotten used to the static snap, it doesnt really bother me anymore hahah

I'd say that this is on the money. Here in Japan, most cars have a grounding strip attached to their bumpers which makes contact with the ground to avoid the static problem in the cold/dry conditions.
