2nd Generation Mr2 Gearbox mods

Hey,

I was wondering what i would have to do to mod a gearbox from a Mr2 into a gen 2 camry.
I'm planning a 3s-gte and would like the LSD and gear ratios from the MR2 gearbox then the e153. So any info would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks

Easiest way (since you are down an Aus)...

Get and MR2 gearbox and an ST185 gearbox and make a hybrid. All the parts you need will be found between the two gearboxes. One of them can be totally busted because you have parts form the other box to make up for it.

The side mount should be from the ST185 (top side)
Front mount should be part ST185 part SV21 manual
Rear mount should be part ST185 and part SV21 rear with new holes in the crossmember

V6 axles work, but you will need the stub/carrier behind the motor for the MR2 turbo and V6 hubs.

That should get you on your way...

-Charlie

PS. This is approximately what I'm doing on my Camry right now... (ST205 box modified with MR2 parts, KAAZ LSD, MR2 inner axles, V6 outer axles with V6 hubs)

As White said, make a hybrid. Grab an MR2 gearbox, and swap some parts to make thhe linkage correct. The 2VZFE AUTO axles will work with the E153 gearbox. (go to that wreckers i told you about, theyll have it if your quick )
