My friend has a 1989 Toyota Camry LE. He just hit 100000 miles a few days ago. He was doing replaced the cig lighter and installed a dual one. But now the dome light isn't working and the little lights in the shifter won't work as well as the light in the cig tray. Does anyone have a clue what to check? Or any tools I am going to need?

IF all those lights went out at the same time it should be just a fuse. They are located
at the left (drivers side) lower kick panel. There are some fuses also under hood on the
top left wheelwell. But the fuse your looking for should be under the kick panel left side under the dash. If it is not a fuse maybe a ground but I don't think all of that stuff is
on the same ground. a good starting point is the fuses. It is also a good idea to use
a ohm meter to check the fuse.
