the temp gauge in my 88 camry doesnt move at all. i've done everything from changing the sensor, to the thermostat and the radiator. but its still down way below the cold mark. am i missing something or does my gauge need to be replaced
If it was the one with two wires, you replaced the wrong one...
The gauge cluster runs off the sensor with one wire. You can also take an multimeter and check the wire going from that sensor to the cluster - the wire color remains the same the whole way. If that doesn't work, find a gauge cluster in the junkyard and replace the temp gauge section of your gauge cluster.

ok, well i'm guessing i changed the wrong one and that would explain why it still doesnt work
where is the sensor with one wire located? and if i change that and the gauge still doesnt work...would it be possible to change the whole instrument cluster with one that has a tach, and wire up the tach to make it functional as well? (i hate not being able to see my engine speed and i want everything to look like it was supposed to be there...which explains why i havent just gone to get an aftermarket tach)
:edit: nevermind, apparently the reason my temp gauge stopped working is be cause the little blue plug in the pic above somehow was unplugged. so now my temp gauge works, but i'm still going to get that cluster with the tach.
has anyone ever came across the instrument clusters for a 4cyl on ebay?
hehehe it's easy to do the whole milage assembly's only held on by 2 screws so it's easy to swap em.. i swapped my cluster too it's really plug and play 5 mins to swap it

thats the best news i've heard. cuz when i called the toyota dealer the guy was telling me that the wire number was different and he made it sound like i would have to completely rewire the new cluster. and then he went as far as to tell me to just get an aftermarket one, which there's no way in hell i was going to do that.
