car shakes..

well i just bought myself a gen3 last week, i replaced the front right axel, windshield, new brakes, exhaust pipe. everything seems perfect now except one thing that ticks me off sometimes. cuz i want it to be PURRRFECT. it shakes. well the car shakes in reverse when idle sometimes. and i believe when i have the heat on. is it my battery? battery looks new. but not quite sure. i was planning to get a tune up and all that stuff and install an intake. so yeah can someone help?

tune up may help as it sounds like your idle maybe low or your engine mounts busted.

Does your car idle low? Ie. lower than 500 rpms?

Since that idle is correct, i would recommend taking it into the shop for a tune up and diagnostic . Especially if you were planning on doing it anyways. Usually essessive shaking is due to broken/cracked engine mounts, But i just want to make sure you're not talking about very serious vibrations. Serious vibrations require attention by a mechanic soon.

If you ahve a 4 cylinder they are known for lots of vibrations. THey are also known for knocking noise coming from the A/C compressor. Some people have had good luck replacing the dogbone mount on the top left hand side of the engine as you are looking at it. other than that you can try a good tune up and make sure all of your other mounts are checked to maek sure they are in good condition.
