Left Blinker does not work sometimes...

Hey I was woundering if anyone would know how to fix this problem...It's not the light it's the knob inside the car. When I put the blinker on it makes this ticking noise and it gets stuck most of them time. I think it's something to do with the sensors. I would have to push it down hard for it to work. Anyone got any Info on this? It's a 1990 Camry DX

Is the switch physically getting stuck? What type of clicking noise is it that you are hearing? Is it the flasher tube or is it coming from the wheel when you are turing?
