how is it annoying all you do is push in the trip button whil you turn the key to on at it resets and it also reminds me to change my oil so it dose it job
^ That's what makes it so annoying - the fact that you have to do that to make the light go away. Some people don't want to have the reminder and would rather it just not appear or have a way to turn it off permanently. Some people follow their maintenance schedule regardless if the light comes on or not.

True. But..I bet most people *don't* remember to change their oil and whatever other things need to be done routinely. You have to remember that the Camry's target audience are people who want a car with comfort and convenience - so in that respect, it's perfect.

I agree, but for those who do not want a reminder and know when to do their maintenance, there should be a disable feature. Besides, some people won't do it regardless of the indicator.

My brother is a perfect example of someone that does NO maintenance to his 2002 camry xle v6. He has 42,000 miles on it and he only changed his oil twice. I am suprised that the thing even runs.

yeah i know the whole 5 or 6 seconds it takes to reset the light is "SO ANNOYING"
It's a good thing to have, cuz half he customers i see rolling through the shop wait until the light turns on to maintence their car. Toyota is just covering their ass and I can't blame them. There is alot worse things then reseting the maintence light on a toyota
If its so annoying then sell your car and get an 03

To me, it's annoying and that's just a personal opinion. And I'm not going to sell the car because of that. Besides I already got my answer to my original question about 5 post ago.
Dont you reset it when you get an oil change, that light reminds you to change your Oil once you hit 4500 miles if you have not done so. Each time you do a oil change i believe u reset the counter rather the light is on or off.
