Aight so I FINALLY installed my Tokico struts and my H&R springs into my 94 coupe...everything feels nice and all, but something is making a loud rubbing noise when I turn the wheel. My friend checked as I turned it side to side, and the tire isn't rubbing, so it must be the springs settling or something? Anybody know what the deal is? Also, the car is pulling mad to the left, and I'm hoping a simple alignment will do the trick but hopefully I didn't fuck up the install. Anyone know whats goin on?
my car pulled to the right.. after i did my front struts.. it pulled to the left haha what the crap.. i don't know how the steering assembly works yet so that remains a mystery to me.
ur rubbing like what kinda rubbing ?? metal to metal or..
As for the rubbing sound, check to see that ur tires are not rubbing on the strut. Some people only look at the wheel well. If that is the case, you may need some spacers. I hope an alignment cures your steering issues.
I checked both sides and it sounds like its the springs making the noise, no rubbing that I can see...But maybe I didn't look hard enough. The drop looks really nice though, and the ride is a million times better. I also installed my alpine type-s 6X9's and they sound really good, lot of bass especially for having the factory deck.
I have also remeber that some people here on TN have had this rubbing sound when new springs were installed and they alleviated this problem by wrapping the bottom and the top coil... I think it was with electrical tape or something. I must be getting old. You might be able to do a search and find the thread.
