You probably shouldn't put one on a car that didn't come with one. Keep in mind that there is an airbag underneath, and if you glue/screw/attach something to it, it could end up screwing up the deploying process of the airbag. If you look at an airbag that has been deployed, (actually, look at the point in which the airbag cover split open), it's really close to where the toyota logo is in a Gen 4/4.5 Camry.
Say you got into an accident in the car you added that logo to... the airbag went off, and that plastic toyota logo cuts the hell out of your face (might seem far fetched but it could happen).... your insurance company will find out that you modified the airbag system, and they will most likely deny any medical costs associated with that. They still will probably cover the rest of the car, but not damage caused by modification. And the airbag system once deployed is one of the most expensive parts to fix on a car- so you don't want the insurance company not paying for that repair. Think $1500-$2000 US or even more.
Now that I've covered the mommy-nagging standpoint.... you can probably find those logos either on Ebay or at the dealer. Or find a smashed camry at a junk-yard and buy it there.

Interesting. I never knew the panel that covers the airbag actually split like this into 2 peices.
I always understood that the airbag cover on the steering wheel was attached on a hidden hinge point at the top... When the airbag went off the entire panel would swing up as the airbag deployed/inflated.
Remember that airbags need to be deployed instantaneously as in a fraction of a second. A plastic emblem, superglued on is not going stop the cover from splitting, or blowing, or pop-ing open because there is so much force behind it. That emblem would split in no time if you assume thats how your airbags opened.

The steering wheel emblem is standard on most if not all foreign cars made today. Why specifically would Toyota have put them on there if they knew that there was a potential that the emblem could cause facial and bodily damage in the event of an accident?
Le... sorry if i jacked you thread here... Im just 100% behind you to do it. Go get one off a salvage yard/junkyard toyota and do it. Like I said^ this is standard on most new Toyotas so I doubt you will have any trouble finding one. Take a heatgun with you to help get it off the donor car. I'd like to put one on myself but paint it black pearl. Yeah black pearl sounds nice.
If i recall correctly leasurance's camry doesnt have any airbags at all. Keep in mind things in Aust are different in the states.
Moreover, depending on how the emblem is molded, it might not look right if you just placed it on top of the steeringwheel of the existing logo. I know on our highlanders this 'chrome' thing seems like plastic when you tap on it. haha
I think if you wanted the logo you should just replace the whole steering wheel...it'd look fancy. haha
going against what that guy said, it does not open up and split in two.. he has never seen one deployed and seems to be speaking out of his ass more than his mouth... it pushes out and DOWN.. the only part that splits up is the passenger side airbag..
yes i can be a bit dangerous to put anything on there but why dont you go police people putting shit on their dash??? or those who hang shit from their rearview??? they can also hurt you in an accident...
take that how u want it.

The airbag on the camry does not split open the cover. Press your horn...isnt it easier to press on the bottom of the cover? Thats cos the airbag explodes and makes the cover flap up!
I think the passenger one does split apart on Gen 4's as you can see there is like a line in the middle of that cover. I know most new cars dont even have that little cover, or its really small.

You know, even though I "speak out of my ass"... I thought I'd pull an image out of my ass too... I may be wrong, but it looks like the airbag cover split open right below the camry logo. I know this is a gen 3, I'll keep searching for a pic of a gen 4 camry.
Here is a picture of a Gen 4- AIRBAG COVER SPLIT IN TWO:
Please- why does everyone have to go flying off the handle in response to someone's guidance?. I have seen them deployed. I do not speak out of my ass.
Let's be respectful of one another.
And in response to someone else's comment- I don't think that the emblem would stop the airbag at all- but where would it go if the airbag was deployed? It is possible that it could fly towards the driver's face.
Why wouldn't you get it from a junkyard? I would sure as hell grab a couple pieces of wooden trim as well from a junkyard, all you need to do is pop it out.

hmmm.
If you do this w/an airbag... before you attach your emblem to your airbag cover be sure to notch some tiny fracture points with a dremel on the backside of the emblem. That way you'll get a clean break on the emblem and it won't turn into a projectile. No one wants a toyota emblem embedded in their forehead yikes
Although id take a good 5point harness holding me back than an airbag in my face anyday.
Leasaunce...sorry but a salvage yard/parts junkyard is the only place i can think of right now
