Help! Transmission stuck in Park

My transmission recectly decided that it didnt want to come out of park unless I push in the "Shift Lock Overide" button in. I have a 1992 Camry LE, with 148000 miles on it, any help fixing this problem would be appreciated. Thanks!

First thing you should do is check your fuses.

check the brake light switch under the dash. It is basically a plunger type switch taht actuates when you step on the brake pedal.. Youcan do a quick check by looking to see if all of your brake lights are working. If only one of the em is out then it is not the switch. If all of them are out however then you probably want to start there.

Another thing is the actual solenoid that unlocks the switch in the console. THey are bad about going out when any kind of liquids are spilled into it.
