Gen5 Sylvania Silverstars for High Beams/DRL

Hello to all. I was thinking about changing my stock high beam headlight bulbs on my Gen 5 Camry to Silverstars. I know that the high beams and DRLs use the same bulb (9005). Has anyone had any issues with the life (or performance) of Silverstars? BTW, I will be doing a HID retrofit on my low beams. Any advice or comments???????

Silverstar's?

I don't know if it'll help you or not, but you can read about my experience with this lamp in the Corolla Forum. By the way, I've only been using the Silverstar's for about a month so I
really can't comment on their longevity yet.

What about the XtraVision bulbs by Sylvania? Maybe I am looking for too much and not wanting to sacrifice anything. I want bulbs that appear whiter than stock and put out more light but I want a bulb that lasts just as long as stock or at least a pretty long time (not around a year). The silverstars will probably last even less time on my car since my DRLs are always on except at night.

the xtravision bulbs will last longer but they are not as bright as the silverstars

i just installed the HIR bulbs (the low beam bulbs) hmm so far they are very bright, brighter than the silverstars and i can see farther but when i look at it from the outside the light seems more yellowish than the silverstars

I am using the silverstars for low beams and they are great. I just bought some yellow (JDM) bulbs for the high/DRL and I love them. It gives you a lexus/luxury look. I will take some picks tomorrow morning and post them.

Xtravision bulbs are every bit as bright as SilverStars without the blue coating. They don't seem as bright because of the coating, but according to Sylvania's website, the Xtravision equals the SilverStars in light output. Sylvania doesn't advertise this fact because they'd rather pop you for the extra $20 the SilverStars cost. I'm using GE Nighthawks, which are brighter than both the Sylvania bulbs and they are not 'blue'.
