7/32nd left is a measurement in inches for TREAD DEPTH. "Seven thirty seconds of an inch" Its the vertical measurement of the tread from the top of the tread to the bottom of the tires deepest grooves. An average new passenger tire, all seasons, is 10/32". Light truck/SUV tires and winter tires can be much deeper.

Example: a tire at 6/32" tread depth is about halfway worn out. But keep in mind that any tire under or at the measurement of 2/32" may not pass a state inspection and could be dangerous to drive on in bad conditions.
