Well first I would like to say that I think it is awesome that toyota put 8 speakers in the new 07'camry and not just speakers but 4 -9 inch subwoofers and i love it but slowly I keep thinking that there is too much music power in this car cause even though I don't have the bass turned all the way up, I hear the side panels vibrating when I play my mp3 files in mid range volume. Someone should have tested the system and make sure that the interior can handle all that bass from the subs. Any ideas in how to fix this??? Plus I keep trying to figure out where the 8 speakers cause so far I only saw 2 mid range speakers on the front dash, 1 sub on each door and 2 subs in the rear. Does anyone knows where the other two speakers are???????? Does anyone else hears the panels vibrating while listening to your music?????

Somehow I doubt that you are running 400W RMS. It's probably the peak wattage.
I'm assumign that you have the Toyota eight speakers in six locations stereo.
In that case, there are two woofers in the front door, mids or tweets in the dash, and a co-axial speaker in the rear somewhere, ie the rear door or rear deck. I haven't seen the new Camry yet, but every Camry before it that has had eight speaker stereo has had the speakers arranged in this manner.
I am also doubtful that Toyota decided to include 4 subs. More likely than not, the speakers are 6x9s and you are measuring the 9 inch portion of the speaker.
I'd be incline to think that the 8 speaker system will include, a woofer for each of the front doors, a tweeter at each sail panel in the fronts, a set of coaxial speakers in the rear doors, and a set of 6*9 in the parcel shelf. + sub.
They count tweeter and woofer from a set of splits as a separate entity.
And 440 MAX is like about 150-200w rms at MOST. Which is like jack all really. But find the places where it rattles and put some waterproof foam between the trim panel and the metal. That'll get rid of the panel rattles. If it is the parcel shelf, you can just use some ordinary foam as it will never get wet.
lol i have 1400w rms and i dont have many rattles =) Sound deadening plus tac mat. (ends all the rattles)

Actually the infomation about the speakers I got from the JBL website It actually desrbies to you that the camry one of the first carts that they used special subs and in for location
So it looks like its a typcial camry setup. Well its different than the gen 4...but basically you have no subwoofer. 6x9's come in camrys from way back. It seems like the car is missing tweeters but i dont see how stock radio/amp/speakers can make anything rattle. I know my stock ones never made a thing rattle, but gave good sound till they blew. haha
Take it to the dealer. Test out other camry's at the dealership to see if same problem exists. Thats what i suggest. I dont suggest ripping apart your brand new car yet.
The link you just posted just confirms my previous post that the rear speakers are coaxials and they count as two speakers. As for sub...I dunno. I think it's more of an equalizer and/or time alignment tweaking. You still have full range speakers in the car, so they're not really subs.
I personally am very happy with the JBL system in my camry, it was designed really well.. they spent a lot of time engineering it..
In my taurus I had a similar setup, just I had 2 tweeters in the door (edge of window) two midrange speakers on the bottom part of the door.. two rear deck 5x7s, and 1 6x9 sub.. it sounded good, but nowhere near as even as the carmy.
I hated the fact of the speakers on the dash bouncing off the window.. it sounded so weird to me at first... but now I love it... with the tweeters in the door, I got ear fatigue very easily, but with it bouncing off the window, I don't seem to get it as quickly as I did..
I think the "DSS" system works really well in the camry as we.. the overall balance of the low end and high end is perfect for easily listening...
however I will still be adding my 10s in the trunk for some added depth,
but I am still very pleased with the stock system.
All I can tell you is that I'm INCREDIBLY happy with the new Camry's audio system. Just well-balanced, very well integrated, with great detail and truly deep and powerful bass. I don't normally "crank it up," but I've done that a time or two for a few choice cuts, and I've certainly not heard anything amiss -- certainly no door panels vibrating or anything like that.
Anyway -- far, far, far better sound than I've ever experienced in a car before!
I'm very impressed with the stock single CD system in my '05 LE. It's enough to make the doors and seats vibrate! Plus that..when there's a song with a lot of bass, you can feel the air on your legs from the front speakers . To me - that's pretty darn good for a stock stereo.
It sounds very similar to the 6CD system on the Avalon, just that the Avalon has 2 additional tweeters so it has better upper range response.

If you are having problems with rattles take it to the dealer and let them take care of it. That kind of stuff should be covered under at least the 12/12000 adjustment warranty. It may even be covered for the full 36/36000 bumper to bumper warranty. If they cant do anything for you then you can try tearing into it yourself. But if you go messing with it now and then have problems with it at a later date you may have troubles with warranty repairs.

LOL- the rattle is probably distortion...
If you are impressed with a factory system (JBL, Infinity, Bose, whatever, its all marketing, not quality), its probably because you haven't listened to a decent aftermarket system.
However, its nice that you are happy with it.

My life is centered around audio, I spend a lot of my time in high end studios and work at a lot of concerts. I know what audio is supposed to sound like.
Now it is not that "I don't know what its supposed to sound like" you shouldn't insult people like that. its that I'm willing to settle for less than you are.. I mean come on... seriously, its a STOCK SOUND SYSTEM. its not an aftermarket. .yes an aftermarket would be better, but for stock, the camry speakers are pretty darn good. better than almost any other stock system I've heard.

Yep, you're pretty out of line with that statement. I've been involved with high-quality stereo equipment from probably long before you were born. I'll agree that many factory systems aren't delivering what a good aftermarket system could do, but the better systems that are truly designed to produce something approaching accurate frequency response and a sense of soundstage to the music can produce fine sound -- sound which aftermarket systems just aren't going to be "engineered for the car" to perform as well. Aftermarket systems might be able to produce much higher sound pressure levels than the "440-watt" JBL system in the new Camry, but I doubt you could build a system with the kind of SRS "FOCUS" and "TruBass" technologies that are tuned for the car the way the JBL system is.
This JBL system is certainly not "all marketing" -- it truly produces a very high level of sound quality. Take your favorite CD to a Toyota dealer and go check it out for yourself!
