One headlight burnt out, replace both or just one

I ve heard various opinions on this. My passenger low beam light burnt out.
Do you think I should just replace the one bulb, Ive heard that this isnt safe.
Or replace both the bulbs, even though its more expensive.

if someone told you that it isnt safe, why would you still want to do it then?

of course do both...

bulbs dont even cost that much, unless you got HIR's or Silverstars

I doubt that it's unsafe. I think it would just be more convenient to replace both at the same time because when one goes, the other will soon follow.

Get a set of Sylvania XtraVision bulbs. $9-$10 each or sometimes they're sold in pairs for $19 or $20. Slight improvement over stock bulbs.

why would it be unsafe?? i always replace them one at a time because i never have both go out close to the same time. i just dont see the need to replace something that is working just fine.

It's not that much more expensive to go with 2 anyways. Plus if you mix a old one and new one, the newer one might be brighter then the older one, so you might see a bit of a difference

Exactly what I came in here to say, but you said it already so I'll just walk back out.

I buy the set and if I can't see a diff in brightness, I just put the extra in the glove box. I change them both on the Taco, because I have to take the grill off to change them.

Put silver stars in there. Wow what a difference! The light is white instead of yellow. It so much better. I replaced both of them. Thanks for the replies.

If you use the car a lot at night the premium Silverstar or equivalents are a good move . Just keep old bulb that is good for emergency. It is not unsafe to change one Who gave you that BS?
