I am going to be getting a roof with the sunroof from a salvage yard and my father in law is going to be doing the work on installing the whole roof and paint. I have to agree with Amano. Them shits leak.
Amano, are you saying that I should do what kilrcam is doing or trade in my ride? How much would something like that cost? I don't exactly have a father-in-law that will paint and install a roof for me. lol.
Just get another Camry -OR- just buy a vehicle with a sunroof. That is the best of both worlds. Or if you want to, trade in for another camry with a sunroof.

It's mostly for looks. I just like having a car with plenty of features.
To add to that, my Gen 3 had a moonroof. I can do without it but I liked it when I had it.
Question: If you weren't getting a corolla, would you trade your Camry in for one without the sunroof? Not to be badmouthing you or anything. Just a question
yea i know what you mean but the question is. is it worth the hassle and the possibility that they are gonna screw it up and you have leaks due to their mistakes? plus that price is high and i promise you once you get a sunroof installed, about 3 months later you gonna look back and think "why the hell did i spend my money on something so stupid?" i promise you don't do it not worth the money. put that money into a CF hood or something useful, plus a cf hood looks great
i was thinking about getting a corolla XRS and it didn't have a sunroof but i didn't care sunroofs are for looks only and are a waste of money in my opinion. only reason i have one is b/c it was the only camry on the lot that i liked and could afford. and yes i would trade a camry with a sunroof for a corolla w/o one. as i said sunroofs are not as great as they seem

i agree with what your saying. i know it is awesome to have one but really would you trade a camry w/o a sunroof just to get one w/ a sunroof. and also as someone else said, they have heard nothing but bad about aftermarket sunroofs, so is it worth it?

No, I obviously wouldn't trade a camry w/o for one with a sunroof or I wouldn't have started this topic. But I still would like to have a sunroof. It might not seem like it but I am taking the comments you guys have made about aftermarket sunroofs to heart. I just want to know if there is a legitimate option I have besides trading in my camry or ending up with a crappy aftermarket sunroof. Yes, the sunroof is just for looks and yes I agree with majorgecko it is pimp. Its just like buying chrome rims. There is no practical use for them except looks.
that is where i do not know. since i had one when i bought the car, i have never had to mess w/ looking for an aftermarket company to do it. i'll let someone else answer that for you

how about just live with what you got.. is a sunroof really that cool anyways. i mean i have 1 and i barely ever use it. actually i forgot i had one until i read this thread
I agree with you
I think i have opened three times since ive got my car 1 yr ago . so i see no use for it IMO
its nice but the headaches with the rust/leakage is just not worth it. if u were too cheap in the first place dont bother now. unless u like the aggravation
