okay, okay. i read the camry/solara FAQs about the 9006 headlight conversion for...a good...45 minutes and still dont get sh1t. i just need some answers. first are those instructions for a gen3 only or for any cam? and have any of you tners done it yet? it sounds like a really cheap effective mod so im pretty interested. if it helps, i have a gen4.5. can my fuses hold up 60sumpthin watts? thanks

Ive done it on my projector headlights because it doesnt affect my beam pattern negativly, but I woudnt recommend anyone with a reflector housing to try it. It will have an shattered beam pattern and blind people. :
and all that is required is a dremel to remove the 2 tiny plasic "rails" inside of the connector part of the 9005 bulb, and some dremel'ing around the base tabs is needed for the 9005 to "click" in correctly to the 9006 socket.
The things of you guys talked about is that modify the 9005 and put it into the headlight in stead of using 9006?
As I know the 9005 also is the day light, is that any other different between 2 bulbs?
I have a question, how can I make the day light off when the car is running?

Yes it is to modify the 9005 and put it into the 9006 and the 9005 is the high beam(more wattage, no tip on the end) and the 9006 is the low beam(less wattage, tip at the end)
More wattage than stock low beam and more lumins. The wattage rattings for both the High and Low beam harnesses are the same so you won't blow or melt anything. The conversion will work for any car with the 9005-9006 configuration.
I did mine almost 2.5 years ago and I've been running the same two sets of Sylvania SilverStars that way with no problems.
Mine work great in the stock reflector housings. You will need to re aim them tho. ...and no my brights don't shine too high. Its hands down the best DIY mod I've done yet.
I've done the Halogon conversion on my Vette and followed it up with the 9006>9005 conversion too.
btw~ I did the write up on the FAQ page and I believe I was the first to do the conversion on a Camry.

I just did this modification tonight, but the 9005 were just as bright as the lower wattage 9006 bulbs did i do somthin wrong, shouldn't the 9005's be brighter?

How are the silverstars for 9005?? I'm planning on conversioning this by just buying the 9005 sockets and connecting it to where the 9006 are bc mine are melted. Btw this is gen3 camry, will i get great lighting by going two sets of 9005 sylvania silverstars in headlights?
ps. also will my plan work? by buying 9005 sockest and wiring them up to where the 9006 sockets for low beams are now?
