Hi, the cd player in my car (2001 LE) can not work, I followed someone's suggestions in this forum. But it still doesn't work. So, I want to buy a cd player to replace the broken one. I want to buy one under 200 dollars. Would you give me some advices on it?
try www.cardomain.com their store section, I've noticed the have some decent prices and you get free installation pieces for most stereos. If anything use them to shop for the one you might want.
for 200 bucks, you will get a decent unit
Alpine,
Pioneer,
JVC... are some brand names you might trust.
Some features to look for.. RCA jacks, mp3/ wma capable/ maybe satelite radio ready just in case you might want to expand later on.
So shop there and then go look at it in person at bestbuy or circuit city.
Good luck

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.
--Can honestly go to a parts counter and ask for brake shoes for the front brakes.

go buy an aftermarket MP3 cd player such brands like Alpine/Kenwood/Pioneer are a few good ones nowadays its really cheap to buy one that plays all types of files and comes with a remote
Ok, I guess I will get a aftermarket MP3 cd player, so do you know if I can keep my stock radio after I put the new cd player in? And do you know where can I find the manuals to change the cd?
They have good selection and the prices aren't bad. They will include an installation kit (wiring harness, etc.) complete with detailed instructions with purchase.

Are there any specific features that you want in your CD player?
Do you just want basic CD player? Do you want MP3 and changer capability?
Will you be adding an amp later (at which point you'll need to change the speakers also).
Another ooption is to get a used stereo from a Scion. They have MP3 capability and they will plug right into your car with no modifications or wiring. An aftermarket stereo will require that you do some wiring to make it work.
