Unless you really love your camry don't bother. The cheap upgrades don't do shit and the great upgrades aren't cheap.

If you're serious about building and making power out of a camry then you will probably want to go with forced induction. That takes time and money, so do your research. Also, when asking for help, you gotta tell us what exactly you're working with. You have a 99 Camry what? 4Cyl, 6cyl, hamster power what?

upgrading arent that cheap, unless you are committed to spend hundreds of $$$$ then go for it (eg; Turbo, Bodykit, CAI, SRI, Lightweight Rims, just to name a few)

You have to spend quite a bit to increase performance, ie a $2500 supercharger.

Otherwise maybe a cold air intake or short ram intake, which is a bit under $200 for an Injen one, or about $70 for a custom made DIY one. But then even an intake in a camry would mostly just make it sound better, not a HUGE performance increase. Same applies for adding an exhaust.

If you really must do anything, switch out struts and lowering springs, add 17s or 18s and it'll look nice and ride great.

4th Generation 1997 6 Cylinder Camry Manual CE

I have TD struts on my Camry. If I were to spend the money, I would get better springs and lower profile tires with nice rims. MAybe some nice front and rear headlights.

TRD turbo is expensive and this is the only area where you can get real hp improvement

I like the way you think. This man is right. Buy a Supra id u want to work on the engine. If you really want to customize the camry then I' suggest the SUPERCHARGER if u have the V6 or just slap on some rims, drop it an inch and tint the windows. When thats done get yourself a decent system and enjoy the ride cuz thats what a Camry is really about.
