4th Generation suspension and brakes upgrade.. suggestions?

my 98 camry is getting new rims and tires for summer, but it also needs ALL of the suspension replaced its all stock and its way overdue to be replaced, i dont wanna replace with stock, any suggestions for what would be a good upgrade for struts..shocks...springs... as well as brakes.. the rears are drums so there isnt much there unless i swap them for the es300s discs in the back but i think ill stick to just the fronts for now.. budget im looking for is just close to what it would cost to replace the suspension with regular stuff.. maybe 25-40% more expensive.. as for brakes... anything around 200-350$ CAD... is there anything good out there around that cost.. thanks

In the same boat with needing the components changed, but I do not think that I will be lowering my camry.
The suspension is near due, and the swaybars, bushings, control arm bushings are waiting arrival from the whiteline group buy.
What model do you have? 4cyl? and what size rims?
The front disc caliper upgrade will only work with 15" and larger rims.

My front brake job cost $230 for 2 rotors (brembo) and pads.

An upgrade for larger discs will include 1 pr calipers, one pair torque plates, rotors pr, pads, 1 set. That would add up to 350 there.

I would suggest you leave the drum to disc conversion last. you will need time to gather the parts and a bit more money. You will need an alignment after.

There is a FAQ section on the front page of the Camry section. If you go into that thread you will dfind lots of info about struts and prings. IF you are wanting to keep your factory height then there really isnt much reason to replace the springs though. Just the struts. General consesus is to go with either KYB or Tokico for the struts. If you want to lower the car at the same time then there are lots of options and most of them are discussed inthe FAQ section also.

as for brakes you can search for suggestions because everyone has their own opinion about those also. There are many iotions for performance type brakes on teh Camry but you can upgrade to better brake pad materias and you can go with crossdrilled and/or slotted rotors.

Jus tuse the search function or the FAQ section and you will probably have all of your questions answered.

you can buy just the front struts for the car, but you'll have a hard time finding just front springs locally though....I didn't even know that whiteline could split up their sets until the groupbuy happened

and if you're talking about replacing your suspension with oem stuff, aftermarket is actually cheaper
