I was lookin into some HID kits around town and on ebay, and I wasn't sure if these kits are plug and play or will the power the lights pull through the ballast over load the harness and just short or blow the fuse?

if anyone has done it or knows please help. im sick of not being able to see at night

No. They are not.

The start up amperage of an HID ballast approaches 30amps (if only for a moment). The stock harness was designed for bulbs that draw between 4 and 6 amps. You do the math.

If you want to risk it, then be my guest. You may have a melted harness, you may have no ill-effects at all. What I CAN guarantee, is that the light output will be shit.

If you don't have the right headlight and don't know about the technology, I wouldn't buy them

I guess that what you're trying to say is that if you don't have HID projectors, it's not recommended for you to install HID on your car. Hawkeye-SE can give you WAY more info than I can on this, and you can also do some reading on www.hidplanet.com

well, they're plug and play in the fact that they're easy to install

you wire the fuesd power straight from the battery or use an open space in your fuse box, but I'd do it from the battery, and then splice into your stock light harness for the relay

from what i read on other threads, new headlights + projectors from other cars that came factory with HID like the tsx, rx 330 and other luxury cars.. work.. but it takes more than just that.. search for some threads and youll find all your answers.

It's simple, if the headlights aren't specifically made for HIDs, then you need HID projectors.
Just because it's clear headlights, does not mean HIDs will work optimally for the driver and the oncoming traffic. Even if the headlight is made for HIDs, they also usually utilize a D2R (Vs. D2S = shieldless) bulb, which has a shield to limit the light to prevent glare.

Plus, the plug and play HIDs aren't reliable, manufacturing process isn't the same as the oem made HID kits for luxury cars. You could spend $200 on a PnP kit and have a bulb blow out on you rather quickly.

Research. Hidplanet.
