is it worth putting money into my Gen3? if i don't stop.. i kno i'm gonna end up having a car like brian's. mines white too.. i've done lil things to it.. but still saving up money.. and everytime i get money.. i blow it on stuff for the car... but its kind of a beat up dirty... 93 white camry.. and well... i kno i can get body kit parts for it.. but still won't be like..CLEAN. jus maybe look somewhat hot. well... i need help.. on this downhill?... road i'm taking.
Save your money. I've spent over $25k on AFTERMARKET parts on my car over the last 5 years, and it put me into a lot of debt. If I hadn't done that, I would have had enough $ to buy a house a year or two ago, at $100k less than now. I'm trying to buy a house now and it sucks knowing that I'm paying that much more than 1 or 2 years ago. Invest in something worthwhile...cars are only temporary.
What I do is put 80% of my paycheck in the bank, and leave 20% out for expenses and car mods. It takes me longer to mod out my car, but at least I'm saving money and modding my car. I don't think that having 6K in the bank is bad for a 17 year old.

Ive always believed in paying myself first... I started at 10% at the age of 15, but then times got hard about a year ago and i foolishly spent my savings. Well i have a new job now and im doing 50% in savings now, which is accumulating faster than i imagined. my long term goal is to be able to buy a house before im 30. real estate is a much better place to put your money than cars.

latez.
That's a great goal...I'm positive you'll hit that goal earlier than that at the rate you're going. I personally save 75% of my income, and waste the rest on everything else. Modding my car is definitely the lowest priority on my list...and probably always will be.
It just surprises me sometimes that people will live paycheck to paycheck just to mod their car (probably not the best thing to say on a car forum! ).
haha.. yea.. i guess i'm just going to save up my money.. but i want a nice car you know? its one of those inscentives in life i guess..i denno jus makes me feel good.
