Cool how to change headlight bulb

One of my headlights is out on my 1998 Camry. I purchased the replacement bulb but have no idea how to change it. I don't have an owner's manual and I couldn't find any information on the internet. If anyone can give me some easy to understand directions on how to change it, please post.

well i personally recommend yanking the harness off the bulb before removing the circular rubber seal (with a tab on both top and bottom). After you remove that rubber seal you will easily figure out how to remove and replace the bulb.

It is IMPORTANT that you never touch the glass of the bulb. Oils from hands are capable of shortening the life of the bulb.

Be sure to clean off the glass portion of the bulb with alcohol before you install it. After this, do not touch the glass, or if you do, clean the glass with alcohol.

The oils on from you hand can cause the glass to heat unevenly and cause premature failure of the bulb, or in the worst cae, the bulb will explode.

Please do what they told you. It is very easy, I did it 2 weeks ago. It just take me 5mins, that was the first time to do that. One thing you should also know is what your bulbs should be changed, high beam or low beam, because they are different in 98 camry.

sorry but 98 is still a gen 4, not gen 4.5. i own a gen 4 98 cam. The high and low are all in one.
I think in 2000 and 2001 was gen 4.5 with the separate bulbs.

nodrogkam is correct. There is only one bulb on the 98. It should be a 9003. I just changed one on my wife's 98 a few weeks ago. It's pretty easy and the instructions you received in the previous posts should make it an easy job. It should take about 5 minutes.
