Gen5 Windshield Scratch...

a small pepple, the size of a pepper seed hit the left side of my windshield. like 1 mm dot, now i have this long scratch line running straight across my windshield. it is growing longer every day. sucks. the glass should be stronger to withstand this sort of thing. the hit was right at the rubber molding... how can i fix this ? also, i think this edge crack is spreading fast. once it goes beyond 6 " , then i will have no choice but to replace the windhshield. where can i buy an OEM Genuine toyota Camry 2005 windshield? those after markets are not safe. they will chip and crack faster, made in china. and then, i have to make sure no chips and rust after the windshield replacement. big headache..

it depends on how long and how wide the crack is

if it's not too wide, and isn't that wide, it can be fixed so that it doesn't spread anymore, but if it's really long, or if it's a thick crack, then you're out of luck, and you should get a new windshield as soon as possible

you really should have gotten if fixed before it started to spread...hopefuly it's not too late yet

to fix it you need to replace the whole windscreen....

^^ no you dont. But would be nice to not always look at that scratch or crack.

First of all, any scratch or crack you see growing larger everyday is from when your driving. When driving, all the vibrations your car has, will make that scratch or crack bigger in the smallest size possible and will keep getting larger. BUT, if you dont have the money to buy a new windshield, they make clear sealers that cover the scratch or crack from getting any bigger.
