Ok, how many of you have a stock Camry vs a modified Camry. If you wish, give reason why you kept it stock or modified.
My Camry is stock condition and plan to keep it that way, the only thing I plan to change is maybe the wheels. Even then I would look for Camry 16" wheels. I bought my Camry about a month ago and wanted a reliable car with good build quality. I wasn't looking for a super fast sports sedan. If I were I would have bought a used Acura 3.2 TL, Accord, etc, something along those lines and then modified it a bit.

So, who has a stock Camry or modified Camry.
I have a stock one with some minor personal touches. I agree with you, the only thing I may consider changing are the rims or tint perhaps, but I love my stock 16inches SE wheels too. I hope to keep my camry slightly elegant. I may get some 17 or 18 5 spokes when I am tired of the look or when the tires need to be replaced.(I am not saying other rims are not good, but I am big on 5 spokes for their simple, clean and classy look) Mine is stock but different.
Stock camry (lol),,,sure...thats how they should've come from toyota! (thats why i mod).
Modified camry (lol)... you picked the wrong car to modify. It wasn't really designed to be a sport sedan. You should have gone for Acura 3.2 TL, Accord V6, G35, etc. Notice how the Camry V6 dont really come with a stick shift, for that reason. It was made to be a elegant and classy sedan, not a sports car. Although the new Camry is moving towards more of a sportier image.
modified off course! just got done tint and rims plus i put more touch inside interior with exhaust and Sri feel i get more respect now.wow!! nice camry!
Modified!! 1gen 3SGE ( soon will rebuild with stronger internals and add a CT26 !), tinted windows, black and red custom interior, and some HUB CAPS ! lol
Well there are benefits other then looking nice with modifcations. Rims, shocks, springs, and tires all can smoothen your ride and make your Camry feel more luxurious and new-like. Other things such as exhaust and intake usually just makes it sound better with a bit of improved performance. Tinting windows can be said to be an improvement for privacy and protection against UV rays.

had to keep it stock because of the poor road maintanence in hawaii. Due to the recent downpours, its not worth see my hard-earn money go to waste if i bent the rim, or blew a strut.
I guess we should keep the topic rather neutral, there isn't a need to say which side is right. It's just a subjective thing, no right or wrong. Whether you wanna keep it stock or modified are just personal preference. What we all share in common is we all own a Camry, we chose it for difference reasons..kee.
Personally, I think the Camry can do very well modified as a show car. Realistically it's a pretty poor platform to start from to get a performance vehicle.
However, the direction my car ended up going is performance. It's the car that I owned back when I got interested in racing. The upgrades ended up happening because I got tired of the stock parts and performance - and I wasn't willing to get something different.
Not to get all deep here, but I think that a lot of people who mod their camrys intellectually know that the car starts at a lower level than, say, a cheap DSM or a Honda or something, but emotionally they feel that the car can be something better and unique.
Plus, I watched a lot of Initial D back in the day, and I'm a big fan of the underdog.
