Gen5 2AZ charactistics

I wonder if I want to accelerate really quickly, say like overpass others on highways. Is that better to step on gas till ~5100 rpm (~max horsepower) or hold it like 4000 rpm (max torque?) or step the gas to redline?

I remember from somewhere that 2AZ torque will go down quickly after max torque?

sorry I am not sure how max torque and max horsepower works=(

horsepower = torque * rpm
but max torque times rpm does not equal to max power.
Reason: at a certain rpm (ie 4000rpm for 2az-fe engine), torque reaches its peak and start dropping, but rpm still going up. so the engine power output, the product of torque and rpm, still increases at a slower rate. once the engine reaches another certain rpm (ie 5600rpm), the torue drop rapidly resulting drop of horsepower. this is the point where max horsepower occurs.

regarding the question about accerlaration, I would suggest accerlate at 2500~ 3200 rpm at normal situation. if you want to save gas, go for a lower rpm. if you want faster, then go for a higher rpm. for racing, you should ideally accerlerate at max horsepower rpm. you definitely don't want to get into the red zone. you will lose power and screw your engine.
