Okay, I bought a used TRD Supercharger for my Camry but it didn't come with the EBC. I was wondering if I could buy a different EBC, let's say for example the Apexi AVCR, would it work with my supercharger? Or are the EBC's that are out there just for turbochargers? Also, if I can use a different EBC with my supercharger what else do I have to do to correctly install and operate my supercharger? I've heard something about an EGR Tube? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
... O.o Questions to answer. Do you have a Auto or Stick?
What exactly came with your Supercharger?
The TRD EBC only cuts boost in first gear for the automatics to save the weak tranny, the EBC your thinkin of i believe is for turning the boost pressure up on Turbo charged cars.

Lol, Ufoz the TRD EBC is not like a normal turbo boost controller, all their's[TRD] does for the Automatic Tranny is not allow the Supercharger to boost in first gear because of the weak transmission.
2ndly, No the Supercharger is not for the 92-96 Camry per say, but 1 person has gotten it to fit with some "workarounds" I'll call them and another person is working on doing the same.
3rdly, The EGR pipe is different for the Auto and Manual Transmission, not sure how, but they are.
4th, when I say what did you get with the Superchager, I mean did you get the Supercharger, the new Serpentine belt, the pulley/plate assembly, EGR pipe, etc, etc, etc...

Ill have my supercharger installed on my 95 within the next 3 months. You can re-route a few of the vacuum hoses to get boost right off the bat in 1st gear. No need to have a EGR tube, you can remove it and use an EGR blockoff plate isntead. No need to re-circulate hot air back into your engine.

like Sean said, the EBC is used to cut off boost inbetween shifts, most importantly 1st to 2nd. Some have said it does this to prevent killing your torque converter and extending your auto tranny life. I didn't instaled mine yet as I'm waiting for correctly figure out the wires and what not but I've been driving without it fine. I don't WOT from a stand still as that, at least not alot of time, I imagine, would contribute to deterioating the tranny.
I don't know about usign the blockoff plate for the EGR as Westcoast have said, but the EGR tube is simply longer than stock. As for the difference in auto and manual, I'm not sure.
As for do you REALLY need it an EBC? well, some might beg to differ. Depends on your driving. If you are planning to drive aggresively (WOT all over town) then finding an EBC is the way to go. I really don't boost all time, as I'm in vacuum for a good majority so I'm not worried.
4th, when I say what did you get with the Superchager, I mean did you get the Supercharger, the new Serpentine belt, the pulley/plate assembly, EGR pipe, etc, etc, etc...
I just got the Supercharger, no accessories, not even a pulley. So you're saying I need the Serpentine belt, the pulley/plate assembly, and the EGR pipe? Do you know where I can get the pulley? I was thinking about making my own plate assembly and possibly EGR pipe. Is this realistic?
Also, I would probably be boosting all the time, I love to go fast and I'm usually late to wherever I'm going so I'm always in a hurry. Should I go with the Apexi EBC? Can I configure that to not run boost in between gears? Or should I just forget the EBC and save up for a new A/T incase mine deteriorates?
You can use no other EBC with it, If you can't use it, nothing else will be compatible (TMK).
Of course the S/C is up top connected to the belts... are you saying, it does not have a pulley attached to the Supercharger?, There are also a few pulleys attached to the plate assembly which is what the belt is in between. (my Engine bay BTW)
It seems you didn't read a word about what anyone said about the EBC
I guess you could get a plate assembly and EGR fabricated if you had one to reference to.(like they said though. I don't think the EGR is neccessary) But it'd be expensive as hell, I'm guessing this would be more trouble than it's worth and you should have done more research before snatching up a cheap S/C off of eBay or whereever.

i have a stock 4lb pulley i might be able to sell to you. If you dont have any plates, nuts, bolts, any hardware this is going to be a pain in the ass times 10 for you....
The SC comes with a parts list, but it'll be a major PITA sourcing all of those parts. Many Toyota parts are not sold seperate from their original kit.
