Gen5 OBD II Scanner

I'm thinking of getting a OBD II scanner for my 2006 Camry SE. Any ideas on what ones to look at and what feathers to look for? I know some of the newer ones now have CAD, is this a requirement??

Thanks

I just got a OBD II reader by Actron, # CP9175 for $150. Check out all their models on their web site models. I can't tell you how well it works because my '98 has a different connector, but yours should have a 16 pin DLC.

if you just get a OBDII code reader, nothing is required and they are only about 40 bucks at harbor freight.

CAN (Controller Area Network) was implemented by Mercedes and Bosch in 1992. Now everyone must have it by 2008. Instead of 1 computer controlling everything, a network of computers controls everything.

So, a scanner with CAN capability is and will be useful. A generic OBDII scanner is fine for most, but one capable of reading Toyota enhanced OBDII codes is better, and of course is more expensive.

GOOD FEATURES
Scan Collects Valuable Data from Vehicles On-Board Computer
Supports multiple trouble code requests, generic codes, pending codes, enhanced codes-On-screen definitions of OBD II trouble codes, OBD II generic and OBD II manufacturer specific codes
A reset of check engine light feature.

I'd like to get the one the dealer has that can turn things on and off and the like. Like the seat belt chime and things like that. I would need it for an 07 Camry. Can it be had????
