1MZ-FE fuel pump pressure

Hi

I want to know what is the 1mz-fe fuel pump pressure at psi and if i want to increase the fuel pressure what is the maximum psi that the fuel pump can have without any problem

at the following site http://www.geocities.com/leunghomepa...oJan17-03.html

you can see that the fuel pressure was increased up to 65 psi on a stock fuel pump and stock injectors

How can you increase the pressure? (appart from the press-the-spring-in thing that doesnt work well) ...

I wouldn't go beyond 60 psi long-term wise... I set it at 65 psi mainly for the dyno run, but soon after I replaced the pump with a Walbro unit

Pressure can be increased by fuel regulator

Tony the Tiger
Thanks brother, my car is NA but with some mods (Full exhaust, CAI, Ported TB and intake manifold, Pully, Flywheel and Stage 3 Clutch, Voltage regulator, Denso iridum plugs) So what do you suggest for the pressure regulator to be adjust to.
What do you think for 45psi for daily use and 50psi for Dyno? Is it OK

Ah ... sorry I got a little ahead of myself. You guys use a return style system on the gen3. I have a gen4. Any ideas appart from pressing the regulator spring in.

alex, you would have to get an aftermarket fpr.

instead of saying... i want to raise my fuel pressure by a certain amount, what you SHOULD do is use some kind of piggyback unit that controls the air/fuel ratio (safc/safc2, emanage) and actually go to a dyno shop and tune for better performance with a wideband o2 sensor and datalogging. this would tune the fuel by rpm points instead of just raising it up across the board.

Yes yes ... Sorry for the lack of introduction ...

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry V6 Supercharged running 6psi ... I have a SS FTC with 318cc injectors, fuel line mods, Denso IK22 plugs, Magnecor leads, 160deg thermostat, walbro 190lph pump, 2" y-pipe, 2.5" cat back.

I have a innovative lm-1 in the exhaust which I use to tune the a/f ratio and a obd-2 scanner for ignition timing. I have done quite a bit of research and playing around and I have the car tuned nice. The only reason I am interested in increasing the fuel pressure is for safety. I would feel much more confortable with 60psi as opposed to 45 (the standard setting).

in that case, cool...

i wouldnt run more than 50psi daily... but of course you know you will have to adjust your fuel map for the pressure increase, and probably the timing map afterwards.
if i were you alex, i would swap in 360, 380, 420, or 440 cc injectors before i went to raising the fuel pressure up.

have you converted your fuel system to a return style? or left it alone as is... that is a good option as a supplement to any other fuel mods in gen 4 camry/gen 1/2 solara.

Hi

Now I have adjusted my fpr to 43 psi for daily use and 50 psi for street racing and the only problem that i face was that the car will not start if the fpr above 43psi because my fuel pump is stock.

Alex(AUS)

with your fuel setup you can rise the fuel pressure up to 60psi with no problem but for daily use try not to go above 60psi

and i have a question for you?
you said that your standard setting was 45psi, i want to know what is the fuel pressure for stock 1mz-fe fuel pump is it 45psi?

not sure what the max pressure is for each pump, but the 190 will be great with stock injectors.

yeah, we all know that.. he is looking for the maximum pump pressure possible. those are just the ideal conditions and the variation is due to engine conditions. the regulator regulates between 38 and 44.
