Exclamation Window Problem???

93 V6 LE Camry

I just changed the motor and regulator assembly because the old one was broken. Now that i have the new motor in, i connected the switch to test it out before I put it all back together, it still doesn't move. I tried the switch on the door itself (it's the passaenger door) and nothing, then i tried the switch on the driver door and nothing. I played with it for a little bit and then it worked but only using the switch on the driver door. So started to put it together but before i got too far i tested it again and again it didn't work with any switch. What could be wrong?? Thank you in advance.

....hope this isnt' the solution, the window lock switch? other wise if the key is on and switch pushed, with all connectors connected, there should be motion. just look over all your work, and check for anything missing.

I know that it is not the window lock button being in the on position. I have checked all of the connections and they are properly connected. Now with the new motor in, sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't but this also goes for my rear windows. The times it does work, I am using the master switch on the driver side because the passanger switch doesn't do anything. Could it the switchs themselves or the window relay?? What do you guys think??

I would venture to guess it is the switches.

It sounds as if you have broken a ground wire which supplies all the window switches in the driver's door. Either because of the repair or at the door hinge because of normal use. Get a multi-meter and start probing the wires at the connectors. You should be able to figure it out but if you can get a schematic it will be easier. If you're lucky the wire will be in two separate pieces but it's more likely that the wire will look fine. In my 90 Camry there are two grounds coming into the door.

check for power at the switch using a multimeter, they are cheap. If no power, then maybe its fuses or abroken wire.
At worst you could run a wire from the fuse box with a fuse in line to the window.

Great info!! I will check all the wires to see if any are broken then I will start to probe them. I will do the same for the switches. Thanks for all the help.
