Is there a "Buying a used Camry FAQ"?

Hello-
Brand new member here. I need to purchase two used cars- one for one kid in college with a dying car (VW) and one kid still at home (new driver). I want reliable and safe cars, so I am starting with Camrys. It looks like I will be looking at cars in the early to mid 1990s area. I am specifically looking at 4 cylinder automatics.

Is there a FAQ section for what to look for when buying a used Camry? I have read alot of the forum and it appears that these cars are pretty trouble-free, but I have only read about 25 pages in the forum so far.
Are there any problem areas?
What about oil sludge problems? Short of removing the valve cover, any quick methods of determining if there is sludge? Is it more prevalent in certain year motors?

I have found a high mileage 94 with just over 200K for $1500. In very good condition and alledgedly well-maintained (regular oil changes, etc).
