Escaped with my Life Friday Night

I was driving back from my grandmothers funeral on friday about 9:30p.m. along I-20 in east Texas. A car going east across the grass median lost a wheel and was spinning out of control with sparks and flame shooting everywhere. As it passed me I turned my head and BOOM!!! The air bag deployed and my car jumped a foot in the air. It seems that the entire wheel came off of the car and flew across the median into the driver side front end of my 2005 pristine LE. The battery exploded and took out the front end..........still drove it another 200 miles to ft. worth. now it is in the hands of the insurance company..........sucks
big time. I am going to try to get toyota to repair it instead of local guy so i can ensure that toyota parts are used if it is not deemed totaled. Camry is alot tougher than I thought previously. Saved my life........and if you are wondering, airbags are not comfortable, pillowy substances...they are extremely HOT and have a powder in them that makes you think you are going to choke to death.

sorry to hear bout that, luck was on your side, FYI, air bags heat up to like 1,000 F once they deploy, also the gas that fills them is nitrogen. lastly , theyre loud as all get out!!!

learned this at a honda training center, got to see an air bag go boom, outside!
