Anyone ever have any problems with aftermarket brake pads?
The brake pads (V6 – four disc brakes) on my ’98 LE are just about ready to be changed. On a Honda Odyssey forum I belong to, most owners have had trouble with aftermarket pads (squealing, poor performance) and have much better luck with OEM pads. What about Camrys?
We've used genuine Toyota pads for 20 years with no problems. However, we just went to the aftermarket since we wanted to upgrade to ceramic pads. See link:

i agree with JSM above, I used wagner on my old legend(god rest her soul), and they indeed were quiet!!, infact, now that u bring it up, i might have them for my rears.
I use Hawk HPS Street PAds in the front, while there is SLIGHT performance gain, like better stopping power, less fade.....its squeeks occasionally(light braking at 10-15mph in traffic), a word of caution is that they basically arent worth the "performance". Either go OEM, or Wagner....which i guess was worth the money after all

I put some Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads on the front of a 2003 Civic EX coupe that my g/f had. Quiet, but DUSTY. MONDO brake dust. Had to constantly wash the car just to keep the brake dust on the wheel problem down. That got old quick, so I replaced them with some OEM ones. Problem solved. When we sold the Civic, I had to scrub the wheels with a generic Brillo pad (very non-scratch) and soapy water to get the brake dust off.
Any high quality ceramic or organic aftermarket pad should work fine. Its the cheap metalic ones that squeal like an old school bus. We have been using raybestos ceramic pads at the shop for years on many different cars and have never had any noise issues or problems.
