I want to get some blue license plate lights but cannot find anyone with the correct size. Manual says they are 2825, and no one sells this kind I know of.
what??? what the hell is 2825??? you have a 97 right? well i have a 2001 xle and it uses 194/168. 2825 must be the part no. not the bulb no. if you dont trust me, just crack it open and look on the bulb
I don't think blue lights for the licesence plate are illegal. Then that would make those neon licesence plate thingies illegal too. I think it only applies to turn signals and such. I have blue bulbs in my clear corner and I haven't had a problem yet.

ummm.....hate to burst your bubble, man.....maybe not where you're from, but in canada, or at least ontario, those neon liscence lights ARE illegal....just usually cops are asses about stuff like that unless you piss them off.....

Blue lights anywhere on the outside of your car (and inside if you can see it from the outside) is illegal in the US. This includes neon license plate frames, under car kits, headlight/turn signal/markter lights, etc. You won't necessarily get pulled over for it all the time, but why risk it? The reason is that it can be (supposedly) construed as impersonating an officer. Sorry, that's just the way it is...

Yeah, I understand your point about why risk it and that is just the way it is, BUT...here in Houston cops are more worried about the murders and other stuff than who has colored license plate lights. Now, if you are speeding or driving recklessly and for some reason they can't ticket you for that, they will most likely give you a ticket for your colored lights just cause they can
